Our story

One Kingdom. Many Traditions.

One Kingdom Project is a grassroots ecumenism platform built to help Christians discover the breadth and beauty of the Church across every tradition.

Why we exist

The Church is not a single building, denomination, or style of worship. It is a vast, living communion of believers stretching across centuries, cultures, and continents — united by one Lord, one faith, one baptism.

Yet for many Christians, the tradition they grew up in is the only one they have ever encountered. Walls of suspicion, unfamiliarity, and geography keep brothers and sisters from recognising one another.

One Kingdom Project exists to lower those walls. We believe that encountering the faith as it is lived in another tradition — its liturgy, its music, its theology, its community — deepens rather than threatens your own.

Our vision for ecumenism

"That they all may be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you."

— John 17:21

Ecumenism is not about erasing differences or merging denominations into a single institution. It is about recognising the genuine faith, love, and holiness present in traditions other than our own.

We are not a theological arbiter. We do not rank traditions or adjudicate doctrinal disputes. We simply believe that Christians who know and respect one another across traditions are better witnesses to the world than those who do not.

What we stand for

✝

Rooted in Christ

We centre our work on the historic Christian faith — the creeds, the Scriptures, and the sacraments that unite believers across traditions.

Generous orthodoxy

We hold our own convictions while extending genuine charity to those who hold theirs differently. Disagreement need not mean division.

Radical welcome

Every church in our directory has committed to welcoming visitors from other traditions. Curiosity is always met with hospitality.

Grassroots and volunteer-led

We are not a denomination, institution, or parachurch organisation. We are a small team of volunteers who believe the Church is bigger than any of us.

How churches get listed

01

Submit your congregation

Church leaders fill out a short submission form with basic information about their congregation — name, location, denomination, worship style, and service times.

02

We review your listing

Our small volunteer team reviews each submission to ensure accuracy and that the congregation is an active, welcoming community of faith.

03

Your church goes live

Once approved, your church appears on the map and in the directory, discoverable by anyone searching for a congregation in your area.

Built by believers

One Kingdom Project was started by a small group of Christians from different traditions who kept bumping into each other at ecumenical events and asking: why don't more people know about this? We built the tool we wished existed.

Is your church listed?

If your congregation welcomes visitors from other traditions, we would love to include you. Submissions are free and take less than five minutes.
